OAR is the Richmond area’s largest reentry provider, serving over 4,500 individuals each year with intensive case management services, basic needs, employment search and placement, workforce development skills/training, and more.
OAR of Richmond, Inc. serves adults (18+) that are either currently incarcerated or recently released from a jail, prison, or correctional facility and reside in the Richmond area. The non-profit organization’s services include employment support (resume assistance, computer literacy, interview prep and clothing, and transportation to job interviews) as well as personal skills enhancement (problem solving, goal setting, and money management.)
The Kenan grant has made it possible for OAR Richmond to hire two new case managers and expand their wrap around services. This allowed OAR to reduce the size of the caseloads that their case managers serve, providing more intensive assistance at the beginning of someone’s release to the community and setting them up for better success and reducing the risk of recidivism.
