Overview 

Promoting the development of leadership skills among students on college and university campuses helps shape students during a transformative period in their lives and positions them to contribute meaningfully to their workplaces, industries, and broader communities.  

Eligible Project Types 

The Trust will fund leadership development projects for students on college and university campuses that include: 

  • The direct teaching of leadership skills; and 
  • Include experiential learning opportunities for real world skill application.  

Projects may support established leadership development programs or funding may be requested for the development of new curricular and experiential learning programs that focus on leadership development for students.  

Eligible Organizations 

The Trust will consider proposals for the project types listed above from: 

  • Colleges or Universities  

Grant Size and Duration 

Grants in this focus area will generally range from $500,000 to $1M. Grant durations will typically span 2 – 4 years.   

Please note, the grant size and duration listed here are meant as a general guide. A Kenan Grant Officer will work closely with organizations advancing to later stages of our grant process to tailor grant requests if needed.
