Our work in Educator Advancement focuses on supporting the training and licensure of new teachers and the professional development of existing educators to advance the overall quality of an educational system.

Training Future Educators

Encouraging individuals to enter the teaching profession is vitally important as the nation faces teacher shortages. The Trust funds projects aimed at supporting pre-service training for teachers, as well as licensure and alternative pathways programs designed to strengthen the teacher pipeline.

Developing Educational Leaders

The Kenan Trust recognizes the importance of professional development for Educators both to support the highest quality educational experience for students but also to foster career growth and satisfaction for teachers, faculty, and administrators. The Trust will fund projects that support the acquisition of new skills related to teaching or leadership for Educators in K-12 or post-secondary settings
